The Gingerbread Man
In Literacy the children have been looking at a book a week and the story for this week was The Gingerbread Man. The children enjoyed listening to the story of the Gingerbread Man and acted out the story with great enthusiasm.
Having access to the costumes and books in their own learning allowed them to recreate and change the story in a variety of ways. The children were very good at changing voices for the different characters and by the end of the week they were excellent at running too.
On Friday the parents asked their children about the story and this gave the children time to share their learning with their families.
The children also made puppets of the characters and acted out the story with their puppets.
To end the week the children made their very own gingerbread men and these gingerbread men did not get to run away, the children ate them and the verdict was they were delicious.
